Overview

Distorsion Movement is a real-time generative art platform that creates mesmerizing visual experiences through mathematically deformed geometric grids. The system applies various transformations to shape arrangements, generating dynamic, interactive artwork that responds to user input in real-time.

Why I Built This

After visiting a generative art exhibition in Nantes, I wondered if I could reproduce simple artworks. I gradually made things more complex, carried away by the hypnotic effect of the project.

Features

  • 12+ Shape Types — Squares, circles, triangles, hexagons, pentagons, stars, diamonds, Koch snowflakes, rings, yin-yang symbols, leaves, ellipses
  • 20 Distortion Algorithms — Sine waves, Perlin noise, swirls, ripples, lens effects, moiré patterns, and more
  • 20 Color Schemes — Rainbow, neon, cyberpunk, thermal, vaporwave, sunset, and other vibrant palettes
  • 60fps Real-time Rendering — Smooth animations with thousands of shapes on screen
  • Media Export — Save your creations as PNG images or animated GIFs
  • Scene Management — Save and load scene configurations via YAML files
